As interviews and research continues newspaper articles and photographs will be added. I have some photographs that have been uncovered and are in the process of being shipped. As more newspapers open online research I will continue to dig.
The Cascinai family had some interesting family characters starting back in the early 1900’s. It appears accidents, community service, the the legal system and sports was a part of their DNA.
I actually have hundreds of newspaper articles and pictures – so keep checking back for updates and new information. It is truly a journey.

Grandpa George and Doretta
https://www.emanuelsb.org/about-us/our-history – I did not learn until 2018 when I met my bio mother, Grace, that my birth father was of Jewish heritage. At that time I also learned that a request was made during the adoption process for me to attend Jewish schools during my elementary years. That ultimately did not happen as after nursery school I was in the traditional public school system. My father insisted on traditional schools. I was raised Episcopalian by Frances. My father was an Atheist, although this parents were Catholic.

Al placed this article in the newspaper and was quoted as saying, “There are no known survivors.” At the time I was 9 and George was 6. My father and I had a conversation about this when I was an adult. It was a heartbreaking conversation.
